3 important aspects of a vibration monitor

When you are working on a construction project, you will see hundreds of a different kind of equipment that is needed to do the job right. Due to the evolution of technology, the equipment we can work with now is a lot better than the equipment we used to work with back in the days. One of that equipment is vibrations monitorings, which are used for vibration monitoring. In the past, huge monitors were needed and those could only give you a small amount of information. Know we work with simple, effective measuring systems that can give you all the data you need. Measuring DIN4150-3 for example is a lot easier now. But what are the important aspects of a vibration monitor?

Frequency

The first thing you must to investigate is the frequency range that the vibration monitor is working with. There is a different kind of monitors for measuring SBR-A and SBR-B. A device for measuring B has a more frequency range and a larger measuring range. SBR-B can measure around ten times as accurate as SBR-A.

Filter

Every vibration needs a filter to filter out the unuseful vibrations. You don’t need to measure the vibrations that are under 1Hz, because this data is not useful at all. To measure the right frequencies, you will need a good filter.

Battery

Last but not least, you will need vibration monitoring with a good battery. Sometimes we see that a project has downtime because a battery was not charged well. This is one of the most stupid mistakes you will see. There are a lot of good batteries nowadays they can work for around six days without charging. It’s even possible to charge a battery while the vibration monitoring is doing his job. When you are working on a place without energy, it is important to have a good working battery that is fully charged.
